ISIS Accuses Kurdish forces Use of Chemical Weapons in Iraq


Iraqi Kurdish forces in the Islamic militant group accused the State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) using chemical weapons. Currently they are investigating two locations ISIS attack that allegedly used chemical weapons.



"One of the alleged attack took place late in December 2014 near Sinjar region. Another attack in west Mosul at the end of January 2015," explained the Kurdish militia leader General Aziz Wesi as reported by VOA News quoted Liputan6.com, Tuesday (17 / 3/2015).

The allegations followed similar claims on Saturday 14th March by Kurdish officials. They say ISIS using chlorine gas to target Peshmerga forces.

"The results of the laboratory analysis found traces of chlorine in the samples from the location of the bombing of the city of Mosul who controlled ISIS and the Syrian border," a statement from the Security Council of the Kurdistan Region.

Kurdish Council also stated that the laboratory in collaboration with the partner countries in the US-led coalition fighting the ISIS group. It's just that they do not identify the country and the laboratory.

ISIS group has been suspected of using chlorine in previous attacks in Iraq and Syria. However, allegations by the Kurdish Council could not be independently confirmed. (Ans)
